What We Do

The majority of our appellate work is in the Second District Court of Appeal, the state court having appellate jurisdiction over cases originating in southwest Florida.  The 2nd DCA is one of five intermediate appellate courts in Florida.  The headquarters of the 2nd DCA is in Lakeland, with a branch courthouse in Tampa.  We have done appeals in all five appellate districts at one time or another, and we have also represented clients in the Supreme Court of Florida.

The United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida is the federal court of general jurisdiction in Fort Myers.  Appeals from judgments entered by the District Court are taken to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.  The Eleventh Circuit is headquartered in Atlanta, and it is one of the 12 circuit courts of appeal in the federal system.  We have handled a number of federal appeals in the Eleventh Circuit.  Also, we have represented both the trustee and other litigants in federal  bankruptcy appeals.
